Case Management Resources

Military traumatic brain injury (TBI) case managers are an integral part of the care and support of service members with TBI. For service members with mild TBI and persistent post-concussive symptoms, ongoing therapy can be disrupted by frequent changes of duty station, multiple deployments, distance to care providers or separation from active duty to veteran status. The responsibility of military TBI case managers is to ensure ongoing care remains as consistent as possible.

DVBIC provides the following resources and online tools to assist military TBI case managers and care coordinators.

TBI Recovery Support Program

The TBI Recovery Support Program provides a nationwide network of recovery support specialists who offer support and resources for service members, guard and reservists and veterans who have sustained a TBI in addition to support and resources for their family members and caregivers.

The TBI Recovery Support program offers TBI expertise, resources and support to the military and veterans’ communities and facilities connections across the entire continuum of recovery and spectrum of care.

The TBI Recovery Support Program offers support and access to TBI services and other resources for service members, guard and reservists, and veterans who have sustained a TBI, their family members and caregivers as they enter the rehabilitation stage of care, return to duty or transition to civilian life.

Telehealth and Technology Web Resource Locator

The Telehealth and Technology Web Resource Locator (TTWRL) is a website that provides health care professionals quick access to military, Department of Veterans Affairs and community resources to support the discharge planning and ongoing care of service members, veterans and their families dealing with TBI and associated psychological health issues. More information, including full instructions, is available.
