DVBIC at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) extends the overall center’s mission by conducting research programs concerning TBI to our region’s active, Reserve, Guard and community populations. This is accomplished through close command, community contact and because of its unique accessibility to Landstuhl Military Medical Center, WRNMMC reserves the ability to recruit research subjects early on in the TBI treatment process.
Current areas of research expertise at WRNMMC include:
- Natural history of TBI
- Caregiver studies
- Longitudinal methodology
- Diffusion Tensor Imaging
- Blood-based biomarkers
- Concurrent PTSD and TBI
