MACE: Military Acute Concussion Evaluation Wallet Card
The 10th version of the International Classification of Diseases, or ICD-10, took effect Oct. 1, 2015. We're in the process of revising this product to reflect ICD-10 codes for TBI. See training slides for guidance on appropriate ICD-10 codes to use for TBI care.
The Military Acute Concussion Evaluation (MACE) is a concussion screening tool for the acute assessment of service members involved in a potentially concussive event. The MACE was updated in 2012 by subject matter experts from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as DCoE, DVBIC and National Intrepid Center of Excellence. Changes reflect the latest scientific research and enhance ease of use.
